WLEB Presents: Western Lake Erie Basin Conference

Join fellow farmers, researchers, conservation professionals, agency staff, and community members for Michigan's 2026 State of the Western Lake Erie Basin Conference. This year's conference will focus on tri-state progress, ongoing project updates, and community resilience efforts aimed at reducing nutrient pollution in watersheds that drain into the Western Basin of Lake Erie.

Topics will include: 

  • Domestic Action Plan (DAP) updates from EPA, Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana 
  • Performance-based conservation adoption programs 
  • 319 Watershed Management Plans 
  • Seneca State Game Area and nutrient-reducing wetlands 
  • Ferric chloride phosphorus reduction in wastewater treatment 
  • Edge-of-field engineering practices 
  • Crop yield and water quality modeling 
  • MDARD, EGLE, and DNR-funded DAP project updates Schedule:

Breakfast: 8:30 – 9:30 AM Conference Sessions: 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM Happy Hour: 5:00 – 6:00 PM
