River Raisin Watershed Council Presents: Bug ID Day

Saturday, June 13, 2026 (10:00 AM - 2:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

The Adopt-A-Stream program connects volunteers, students, and community groups with the health of our watershed. Each spring and fall, trained volunteers visit local streams to collect water samples, identify aquatic macroinvertebrates, and record habitat data. These findings help the River Raisin Watershed Council track changes in water quality over time and support local conservation and restoration efforts. After collecting samples, join the River Raisin Watershed Council to sort and identify what was found!

This is where the science comes together and where volunteers truly see the impact of their work.
