Why You Should Attend
This isn’t your typical conference. It’s hands-on, community-rooted, and designed to inspire forward momentum in your work—from watershed protection to environmental education.
Retreat Highlights:
Green Infrastructure & Watershed Protection
Real-world strategies to protect water quality and build climate-resilient landscapes. A presentation by the Muskegon River Watershed Assembly will expand on current efforts to restore local watersheds.
Soil Health & Sustainable Agriculture
Explore regenerative techniques that support local food systems and long-term land health.
Foraging & Forest Stewardship
Hands-on exploration of edible ecosystems, wild foods, and low-impact land use.
Gardens & Ecological Design
Learn about growing tea gardens, managing pests naturally, and creating pollinator-friendly spaces.
Featured Presentation: Lake Restoration & Management
Join us for an expert-led presentation by Dr. Jennifer L. Jermalowicz-Jones, owner and founder of Restorative Lake Sciences. Dr. Jermalowicz-Jones is a recognized water scientist specializing in inland lake management, aquatic ecology, and watershed restoration. Her session will dive deep into evidence-based strategies for restoring the ecological health of lakes, and protecting aquatic ecosystems through sustainable science and planning.
