Michigan Agriculture Advancement Presents: Urine-derived Fertilizer Field Day

Description

Fertilizer made from urine is a renewable, local alternative to synthetic fertilizers, and it is rich in nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. UDF is collected urine that is processed into a safe and MDARD-licensed fertilizer product. Beyond fertilizer production, collecting urine allows us to avoid wasting flush water, reduce energy consumption for treating wastewater or septage, and reduce fertilizer purchases.

Join us to hear research from multiple institutions on UDF, see ag demonstration plots, and learn about the application of this cutting-edge technology. This event will touch on relevant information for farmers, farmer advisors, researchers, agricultural and environmental NGOs and agencies, and those interested in alternatives to synthetic fertilizer for field crops, specialty crops, gardens, golf courses and more.
